Summary

The Optimaxx C288-540 is a 5.0 x 80mm Pozi countersunk extreme performance wood screw supplied in a box of 200. Designed for tradespeople and serious DIYers, it is a fast-starting, self-drilling and self-countersinking hardened steel screw that requires no pilot hole or pre-drilling. Its suite of unique design features ensures reliable, split-free fixing in a wide range of timber-based materials.

Features

• Type 17 slash point for an immediate, precise start and efficient waste removal
• Saw-tooth formation cut into bottom threads bites into timber, reducing torque and enabling fast penetration without a pilot hole
• 24-groove self-countersinking head for a flush, clean finish without counter-boring
• Double reinforced collar strengthens the underside of the head to prevent failure under load
• Long thin groove along the shank disperses wood fibres, preventing splitting near edges
• Wide, deep Pozi recess significantly reduces cam-out during driving
• Part thread on 80mm length for effective clamping of boards
• Compatible with screwdrivers, combi drills and impact drivers
• Suitable for softwood, hardwood, MDF, chipboard, PVCu and sheet materials
